With Christmas fast approaching I thought I would share my thoughts on the importance of taking time away from Work and what I like to do in my spare time.
I think we can all agree that mental health is a big issue and how important it is to be aware of the risk, develop ways to strengthen your mind and have the right balance between work and home life which is key.
As many of us do, I work hard and I am always on hand for my clients and candidates going the extra mile to ensure Wick Hollow’s high standard of service level is met.
Recruitment is not a 9 – 5 job and I am often working on my drive in and out of work, evenings and weekends.
Luckily my wife is very understanding and knows how seriously I take my job. That being said remembering to put the phone down and enjoy life is just as serious and important.
Outside of work you will either find me enjoying down time with my wife and three children or fishing. I live in Glastonbury, Somerset and I am blessed to be surrounded by nature. As a family we enjoy nothing more than letting the kids run wild and spending time in the outdoors. On a Sunday we love supporting my eldest boy play rugby with his team mates at Tor RFC.
One of my biggest passions in life is fishing, I love carp, pike and course but as long as I have my rod in hand I am happy.
Juggling family and work to maintain the balance is tough which means I don’t get the same time on the bank as I used to. When I do get out I am that much more excited and appreciative of the time to myself I enjoy it more. This is a great way for me to switch off and reset from the day to day grind. My biggest piece of advise to anyone is to set time aside for you and your loved ones and enjoy your life. Set goals in and out of work and challenge yourself to be the best you can be. I am proud of what we have created here at Wick Hollow, it is a great place to work and is built with a brilliant team as the foundations.
